Reconfigurable Interface

This research looked to create an interface that had the potential to be adaptable to the inhabitants desired conditions. after assuming a non specific form the surface was the populated with a series of magnets that would form the connections between points on the surface. Following this different properties were designing into the surface were it morphed from skin to fat conditions. To ensure the magnets didn't tear the soft silicone upon use, they were encased within a series of brackets.  Bifurcating structures were then designed that responded to the surface geometry to not only spread the force of the magnets upon the interface but to create embedded structure that would form vaults and cantilevers as the interface was manipulated and reconfigured.
